what are eco action trumps?

eco action trumps is a collection of educational cards that feature environmental actions that pretty much anyone can do. They cover activities in the home, at school, at the office, alternative transport choices and options when shopping for appliances and products. Each card concentrates on an individual measure or behavioural change that has positive environmental benefits.

Together the cards make up a pack of 30 that can be used to play the traditional trumps card game. There are six categories on which to play. Each card depicts:

     •  How much carbon dioxide (CO₂), or greenhouse gases (CO₂eq), the action saves

     •  How much, if anything, the action will cost and, correspondingly, how much is saved 

     •  What is the payback – ie the time it takes to recoup the initial investment

     •  The total resources saved by carrying out the action. Click here for more detail
